Our Attraction Park project required us to build our knowledge of certain mathematical concepts (perimeter, area, volume, angles, translation, rotation, reflection, measurements, etc.). We also had to draw a plan to scale, to keep a journal of our discoveries, questions, difficulties, and surprises. Students needed to describe each movement (translation, rotation, reflection), as well as the reasons why a person would choose their manège (ride) over another. We had the choice to team up with another student or to work individually. Most importantly, students were required to speak, write, create in French! (from the name of the Park to its rides, from the journal entries to communication with others, etc.). We worked hard, learned a lot, and had fun!
